8 Building Project Essentials

Add these essentials to your building site kit

1. Tarpaulins and Rope
   To protect all types of works and materials from the elements, our tarpaulins come in multi-purpose and heavy duty varieties, as well as a range of sizes. All have aluminium eyelets and reinforced edges for extra durability. Our multi-purpose polypropylene rope also comes in a range of thicknesses for various applications.
2. Protection Sheeting
   Our clear polythene sheeting comes in light, medium and high protection thicknesses for different uses. The temporary protection sheeting is economical and can fold down to 1m for ease of transportation. The lightweight protection sheeting is ideal as a dust cover, while the medium protection sheeting is perfect for covering furniture whilst building and decorating works are going on. For protecting floor coverings and interior finishes, we recommend the high protection sheeting.
3. Membranes and tapes
   Damp proof membranes are essential for preventing water ingress and ours is a BBA approved durable polythene. It is available in mini packs or maxi rolls of various sizes and either 1000g or 1200g. For vapour control, our vapour membrane is made of green polythene and is ideal for timber-framed buildings and structures. Butyl tape and PVC tape can both be used for repairing and joining membranes and other materials. The butyl tape has particularly good elongation properties and low moisture vapour transmission, making it ideal for jointing butyl liners, geotextiles and damp proof membranes.
4. Fibres
   To minimise shrinkage and cracking in concrete and screed mixes, you can use our 20mm polypropylene Concrete & Screed fibres. To minimise these problems in plaster and render mixes, you can use our 3mm polypropylene monofilament Plaster & Render fibres.
5. Expansion Joint Filler
   Siteworx foam expansion joint filler is ideal for filling expansion joints in brickwork and blockwork. The polyethylene foam material has low moisture absorption properties and comes in white and cream varieties. The white type is more economical but the cream has better contraction and expansion properties. For filling expansion joints in concrete, use the fibreboard expansion joint filler that’s made of bitumen impregnated fibreboard material, which has a high resistance to moisture penetration.
6. Rubble Sacks
   Our rubble sacks are very tough and suitable for all types of building waste. Available in handy packs of 10 or boxes of 100 for the larger user.
7. Barrier Fence
   To protect the public from your building work or to protect your building work from the public, our barrier fence and fence pins are quick and easy to use. Orange in colour, this fencing is highly visible offering instant protection and warning to help prevent accidents on sites.
8. Wipes
